Enjoy Italy
If you are contemplating on a vacation in Italy for the first time, be sure to take note of the following places to have the best of what Italy offers.
Rome
Rome has an incredible number of world-class attractions, including churches, monuments, piazzas, fountains, and museums. Known as the “Eternal Cityâ€, Rome is once the capital of western civilization. It exudes fantastic art treasures of the Renaissance and Middle Ages. Take note that when visiting churches, even if they are open to tourists, usually for free, they are still being used as churches so you should explore them quietly and respectfully. Be sure to dress decently as some churches do not allow entrance to people wearing shorts or sleeveless tops. Most churches allow you to take pictures inside, but some parts may be off limits to photography.
Venice
Taking a gondola ride down the Grand Canal is already a wonderful travel experience. Surrounding Venice are canals, beautiful buildings and famous landmarks. Piazza San Marco, St Mark’s Basilica and Palazzo Ducale are must-see places that would surely make your Venice-experience unforgettable.
Florence
Florence is comparable to Rome when it comes to art and architecture. It is the art center of western civilization during the renaissance. Frescoes, statues and museums abound in this city where Leonardo da Vinci, Machiavelli, Michaelangelo and Raphael once reside.
Lake Como
Lake Como or Lago di Como, which lies between Milan and Switzerland, is a romantic travel destination. Lake Como is Italy’s most visited lake and offers a great photography. Aside from lush Mediterranean foliage and snowy alpine peaks, surrounding the lake are several beautiful villas, resort villages, and hiking paths. The best way to explore Lake Como is by boat.
